Leaders Create Healthy Communities

Dr. Trevor Hancock's presentation at the Leadership Victoria AGM on November 17 elicited a great discussion about what makes a healthy community, and how we know when we're living in one.

Trevor shared with us that mostly, what makes a healthy community has nothing to do with doctors, hospitals and medicine. Healthy communities are places where people can grow and experience well-being: an abstract concept to be sure, but one that people can typically agree is worth working towards. A community needs to be "a place to grow people" and as citizens, we need to practice leadership to make our community such a place.

Trevor's been kind to share his presentation with us for people who attended (to jog your memories) or people who weren't able to make it.
