Leading and managing change can be a challenging process for both the leaders and the people impacted. In many organizations, the board or executive directors initiate changes. There are also instances where staff or volunteers may initiate changes in response to the evolving needs and interests of the stakeholders and/or the community.
Whether change is bottom-up or top-down, it is important to consider the perspectives of those who are asked to put the change into effect and the overall impact on everyone.
This half day workshop will touch on the essentials of leading change, namely:
- Ensuring organizational readiness
- Navigating Transitions
- Communicating change
- Building resilience
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the difference between change management and change leadership
- Understand how people in organizations react to change
- Identify concrete steps to lead people through uncertain times
- Apply simple tools to plan to lead change
