The Honourable Janet Austin, OBC

Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia

The Honourable Janet Austin was sworn in as the 30th Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia in 2018.  Prior to this appointment, she spent 15 years as CEO of YWCA Metro Vancouver, one of the province’s largest and most diversified non-profit organizations.

She is a graduate of the University of Calgary where she was raised and she spent the earlier part of her career in public sector roles in Calgary.  She has actively volunteered with many agencies in her commitment to help improve the lives of other and has served on many related boards.

Leadership Victoria has been honoured with the patronage of past Lieutenant Governors.  We especially enjoy the patronage of Her Honour, Janet Austin, because of her passion and commitment to leadership.  She has presided over the Victoria Community Leadership Awards for 3 years now and we are grateful for her continued support and enthusiasm for Leadership Victoria’s mandate and related activities.
