Seniors, Stories and Leadership: Sharing Knowledge
This position will involve supporting a panel of senior volunteers in creating a 13-part storytelling series to pass on and preserve leadership stories for the new generations. Leadership Victoria is partnering with Cook Street Activity Center to create this opportunity to engage seniors. The aim of the program is to combat ageism and engage seniors both as volunteers (advisory panel) and as storytellers and speakers. The senior advisory panel will be as involved as possible in the planning, organizing, researching, and most importantly identifying 13 visible senior speakers to tell their stories. As a Volunteer Lead, you will be the main point of contact and reference for the seniors between them and Leadership Victoria. You will be guiding the project, helping as needed and acting as a figurehead, keeping in mind the goal which is for the seniors to create this as independently as possible. Although a senior (in this case 55+) is preferred for this role, anyone is welcome to apply.
