I'm on a secret mission to create change agents to tackle the wicked challenges that our society faces. Without community leadership, we cannot have a healthy civil society.

    If you're passionate about community leadership and developing the future leaders for Greater Victoria, then a membership in Leadership Victoria Society is a way to be involved and make a difference.

    Our members get involved in these ways:

    • Elect board directors annually at the AGM
    • Vote on resolutions affecting our by-laws and directions as a Society
    • Special email notice of events, workshops, graduation, and so on
    • Member pricing on selected events or programs
    • Quarterly newsletter with volunteer opportunities and program announcements.

    The minimum membership fee is $10.00.

    Any donations over $10.00 are eligible to receive a donation receipt for tax credits. We are a charitable registered organization (Charity #82303 9813 RR0001).

    Leading in Community Ticket Purchase

    If you want to add more tickets before you complete your purchase, return to the Leading In Community series page and choose another session. You can keep adding tickets, or clear your order if you've made a mistake.

  • Seeing Systems - Facilitators

    Shauna Fenwick BNSc, MA, CEC

    Shauna Fenwick is an accomplished facilitator, coach, educator and designer of leadership development systems.  In recent years Shauna has been designing and delivering custom blended leadership development programs (face to face and webinar) that facilitate ongoing learning in busy, distributed workplaces. The focus of her work is to strengthen individual and group capacity, which in turn creates conditions for optimal function and innovation.

    Shauna works primarily in the health, public and voluntary sectors. She coaches individual leaders and project teams, designs and delivers leadership development programs, and mentors leadership and organization development practitioners.  As an Associate Faculty member at Royal Roads University, Shauna teaches in graduate, executive and continuing education programs and supervises graduate students’ organizational leadership projects.

    Phil Cady is President of Cognitive Leadership Strategies West (CLSWEST) and founding partner of the LEADS Learning scholar practitioner network. He is an Associate Faculty member in the Master of Arts in Leadership (Classic and Healthcare Specializations) and MBA programs at Royal Roads University, and the Conference Board of Canada’s Director’s College. Phil also serves on several organizational boards and frequently volunteers his services to non-profit and social-mission-driven organizations.  He is an active Doctor of Social Sciences student at RRU and is studying and researching in the area of complexity science and social systems leadership.

    Phil has brought leadership and learning opportunities to organizations of all sizes and complexity from across the world. His passion for studying, designing, and facilitating whole systems transformation has afforded him many incredible opportunities to study and provide consultation on system leadership and strategy formulation for many private and public organizations. He has observed and coached over 500 teams in simulation and workplace settings, designed, delivered and managed leadership development programs and online leadership assessment tools for private and public companies alike.

    Phil lives in beautiful Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island where he also enjoys a busy family life with his spouse, Cindy, and three young children aged nine and under.

    Alumni Poetry Contest

    Calling all Leadership Victoria Alumni!

    Would you like to relive the halcyon days of your Leadership Victoria program, while competing for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Steamship Grill? Of course you would! And it's easy...

    All you have to do is:

    1. Write a short poem (haiku, sonnet, free-form, e.e. cummings, whatever format floats your boat) describing something you loved about your Leadership Victoria experience.
    2. Submit it via direct message to Leadership Victoria on Facebook, via email, or post it on your own blog and send us a link via either of those channels. We'll post your poem to our Facebook wall. (if you don't see it go on our wall within 24 hours, nudge us with a phone call at 250-386-2269, because sometimes technology fails).
    3. Share your post as widely and shamelessly as possible, while encouraging your friends to consider applying for the 2015-16 Leadership Development Program.
    4. The entry that receives the most "Likes" on our wall by May 31, 2015 at 8pm will WIN!
